I click an icon on the desktop, it pops up. When I hover my cursor over it, it suddenly disappears. But there is still an icon at the lower right corner. I hover my cursor over it, it suddenly disappears. What's wrong? How can I fix it?

I would have liked a bit more information, such as which OS you are using, which programs do this, how long the system has been on when it begins to occur, what type of security you have on the system, such as a firewall, anti-virus, and other anti-malware programs, how much memory you have installed, and which type of websites you visit mostly, and if you download music from sites which enable "free" music etc.

Without further information I would have to say you have an infection in your system, and probably several viruses, trojans, and other malware which are interfering in the functioning of your system due to whatever mission they are programed to carry out.

I strongly encourage you to do one of two things:

1. Take your system to a reputable repair shop where an expert can clean out your system and place it back into proper running order, or:

2. Go to one of the many HijackThis forums on the web and have an expert there walk you through fixing your system.

Here is a search results page with many different forums you can check out. Just enter each one, read some threads, get a feel for them, and then pick one to join. You can read as many posts as you please, but to actually post and receive answers to your posts you need to register, which is free, and painless process.

A few items to note about HijackThis forums: The people who help out in these forums are all vollunteers who do this in their spare time and on their own dime. They help less experianced Users around their jobs and other responsibilities, so be patient while waiting for the one who will assist you to get back to you.

There are steps you will need to take in order to get this assistance. You will need to download a couple of utilities, such as the HijackThis program, and probably a Startup program, and a cleanup program such as Comodo. You will need to be able to post the results of scans you create with these tools to the forum for evaluation. It is not difficult.

Here are the search results:

Now, there is an MSN group called Freeware and Shareware, which also helps members fix many issues with their systems. One major difference they have is a chat room where they can remote into systems and fix things themselves for those who are very inexperianced, and following a long list of instructions would be far too taxing. I highly reccomend this group to anyone who needs assistance, but you also need to make up your own mind. Here is a link, check it out:

There is not a simple click here and change that answer to your issue. You need more help than you can receive here. Please go and look at these forums and get your system fixed, or take it to a repair shop. Good luck and a happy holiday season.
