"Do we dream in black and white or color, or does it mean anything if we dream one way or the other?

Most people do dream in color, but some may not notice colors in their dreams. Because color is such a natural part of our visual experience, we sometimes overlook colors in our dreams. Another reason may have to do with how our dreams fades so quickly from our memory upon waking that when we may be able to recall the dream in shades of gray. However, the dreams that are in black and white can be an indication of a depressed or sadden mood."

Yes vivid technicolour! I think I've only had a few dreams that were in black and white...and I think that even then there was a bit of colour (like those old black and white photos that people would go in and add colour to for effect like blue eyes or red lips). My dreams are so real that I often awaken not sure if I was dreaming. The strange thing is that the places I go and people I see are often places and people that I've never seen in life. Maybe premonitions. Or memories of a former life.

Peace out.
glad to be back!
:)

Yes, I dream in color and my dreams feel very real. There have been times when I mixed up reality with my dreams.

Only once, many years ago and I have never forgotten how
surprising it was to me when I awoke, can't remember the
total dream, but yet remember a colorful array of half slips,
about a dozen beatiful bright colors, I still at times wonder why that one dream was in color.

Only a small percentage dreams in color, everyone seems to think they do. Myself included.
People think they dream in color and it is also believed TV/Media has something to do with it. You see you dream as you think you see your TV so you think you dream in color. People reported dreaming in black and white when the first black and white TV and pictures came about. So it is up for debate on whether you THINK you dream in color.

P.S. if you believe that dreams site below i have some ocean front property in illinois i'd like to sell you. That site is like reading your horoscope to find an answer.

It is really strange that I never remember whether my dreams had colours or not. I dream almost every night. The only occasion I remembered was when I saw a vivid bright red liquid spreading very fast on the floor in my dream. I was very much perplexed by this bright red colour.

I dream in color.

Dreams are a product of your own mind doing all sorts of thinking and imagining while you're a asleep. Since your imagination is based on your real-life perceptions, and since real-life is seen in color (except for color blind people), we also dream in color.

Why would anyone ever imagine in black and white? That's just silly.
