well you would have the copy the polaroid several times with different layers and then use the marquee tool for the selected square and place into your wanted image. If you want it smaller or bigger you leave the marquee tool enclosed with the image and use free transform. Well hopefully that didn't sound to confusing. Good luck!

EDIT: Using your sample
Make as your background the desk and the polaroids lying on it, the easiest way would be if the images on the polaroids were all a solid colour of a light tint, then with the pen tool draw a path around each solid colour (you could use the wand or the lasso but they are never as accurate as you will need to be), save the paths, then overlay the image you want to appear in the polaroids once in position create a layer mask, then using the paths create a selection, inverse the selection and fill the layer mask with black, this will create an effect similar to the top five (without the hand), to get the full effect duplicate the background and using a layer mask and the paths remove all the areas except the solid colour this will give you the highlights and shadows that appear on polaroids, then playing with the lighten and colour burn options with the opacity you should be able to achieve a fairly good effect.
[Without having to cheat it as around the mouth in the picture the hand is holding in your sample]
