Yes......you are absolutly correct with the stretching.....secondly they smell their food and follow their instincts even when it doesn't make sense to others.

I fed my dog all the food they had with the re-calls. He wouldn't eat it. Refused to eat it. Wasn't till later we knew why. My animals have always been very responsive to weather changes. Seriously.....he's in the bath tub long before the first tornado alerts.....yet there might be a bad thunderstorm and he's all relaxed wanting to play ball. He eats more during the winter and doesn't in the summer. He seems to know the difference between a mood and illness.....I mean he knows if I'm in a bad mood and he tries to change it. He knows if I'm sick and need comfort. Animals are wonderful creatures.

My pug doesn't stretch it seems, but little Miss Marison Marie does! All the time! She is 4 lbs tiny chihuahua, the cats stretch, but pug doesn't seem to do it, I wonder why?
I would love a water aerobics class, with heated water though. There seems to be a class for arthritis sufferers but I think the doc has to get you into it

I reread your question, now I understand why Pug doesn't stretch, he NEVER EVER runs, beneath his dignity he thinks!

I have noticed that about others peoples animals and dimly remember the cats and dogs we had as a kid. They would stretch for a bit and then walk around.

Streching will loosen up you muscles. It will improve your performance and it will help you perform a bit longer. After the work out you need to cool down for arround 30 minutes to avoid sudden shot down of blood circulation to your muscle. this will help remove accumulated carbon dioxide in your cells during exercise. Follow your instructor closely. I belive he or she is great.

You'd think I would have noticed this years ago...but only recently did I REALLY pay attention to my kitty, Tony, and began to take that example from him...He stretches his entire body, legs, torso and all....so now I try to remember to do the same! It DOES make one feel better :-)

Yes, my dogs do that too. We used to do it at linedancing as well, short warm up dances before the class really got to work.
