Our son is quite active, and he enjoys nothing more then racing/kicking a ball around outside with us. He is only almost 4 so perhaps it's a little different. If you haven't already, how about baking/decorating a gingerbread house? You could bake it the day before so that its already to put together and decorate on your special day. We also like dancing around the house together lol Its nice to make a little more effort and dress up - being a special occasion. Can get a little crazy but you just have to do whatever interests your family. Oh, or perhaps you could give children special chores/tasks (sorry I don't know the right word) like for example, you could tell you 14yr old that he is in charge of taking photos/videos for the day. The 12 yr old could maybe have the task of writing up a newsletter/story about your day that you could post/email to friends & family. Your 5yr old could be in charge of welcoming your guests ??? or making/drawing a picture to go with the newsletter/story ... give him something fun to work with (old magazines to cut up, glitter, save some of the wrapping paper from gifts etc) Hope you have a Merry Christmas

Man, My favorite is the lights, the smells, the shows. I could care less about the gifts because I buy what I want. Ofcourse my kids love it but we try to teach them about the meaning of Christmas and get them to give but kids is kids. That is another reason I love it. Seeing their excitement. Love it!
