I used to play a game on my computer when I was younger, and there would be two players - I think there was a red flag and a blue flag. Each player would have a cannon and try to hit the other player, and each hit would dig out a part of the land. I tried to draw how I remembered it looked like (http://216.20.41.10/~lwheeler/cannon.html). Does anyone else know of the game, especially the name of it?

This game is an oldie, and has existed in many forms. One of which is (or used to be) included with Windows. That was called gorillas.exe and did exactly what you described, except that each player throws exploding bananas, and the terrain is a cityscape. A version for the Mac was called Domes, and added a variety of powerups.

Nowadays, most people would simply reach for 'Worms', which is played in the same way, and can be quite addictive in multiplayer mode.
