if a washer leaks but not from a hose, where else can it leak>?

There is water coming from under the washer

Lots of things can be leaking. There are hoses inside that might be leaking, the water pump, solenoid fill valve, or the tub flange seal. I just changed the flange seal on my daughters Amana Washer today... Probably the worst repair to do on a washer. The part alone was $100 (USA). and I spent 3 1/2 hours. Repair man wanted $240 for labor alone plus would have marked up the cost of the part. Not worth fixing if you can't do it yourself. Almost cheaper to buy a new one.

It could be leaking from the bottom of the tub's conatinment tank below the washing tub itself.

the washer might be split, take it out and replace it and see what happens. sometimes just taking it apart and putting it back properly does the trick.
