I have no clue, but it's what I heard. I'm 3 1/2 months pregnant and I heard that if the bottom of your belly gets big first it's going to be a boy. But I thought that's what happens anyways..?

There are all kinds of old wives tales about what you will look like if you're expecting a certain gender, or different symptoms, or how to predict if a baby will have a lot of hair. The myth is that if you carry low the baby is a boy, if you carry high it'll be a girl... I wouldn't put too much stock in any of them, but they're always kind of fun. Even ultrasounds aren't accurately able to predict 100% of the time, so there is never a sure thing.

I actually heard the opposite:

"carry high, carry a boy
carry low, carry a girl"

With my son my belly got big at the bottom first, but about 5-6 months in, people started saying I was "carrying high" and "all out front" versus "carrying low" and "spreading out the back"

I'm not sure how "accurate" this one is, but alot of women do swear by the low/high front/back method when guessing their baby's gender.

so far a little unscientific research I just conducted last night seems to indicate that a woman's intuition is the best way to tell gender (besides ultrasound / proof at birth of course)...

{something like 18 total pregnancies,
4 had no guess toward gender.
2 had an unconfirmed guess.
2 were wrong.
and 11 were right.}

Ive never heard that.

My belly got bigger toward the pelvis when my baby (boy) turned head down in the womb, which was last week at 32 weeks.

But before that, I dont think I carried a certain way. Sorry.

No, that's not true. I'm currently 7 months pregnant with a baby girl and my stomach is big towards my pelvis.

No its not ture.. I'm carring very high and I look like a basketball ( 39weeks and 2 days) One of my friends are carring low and looks like a egg.. my other friend is carring not really low but kinda low and looks like a house.. All 3 of us are havng boys... It depends on the person who is carring the baby. My one friend who looks like an egg did NOT get sick and has had a period like through the whole pregnancy and she is due Jan1st... My other friend is due 1 or 2weeks after me and she gained 30lbs and was sick for 2 months. I only gained 10lbs and was sick almost my whole pregnancy. So they only way to tell what your having is a sonogram... or check out the Chinese Chart(which i did and said BOY)
I wish you luck in your journey

From all the people I've asked, boys do seem to be more frontal and low than girls. There was a period when six women were pregnant where I work, and they all had the low frontal belly. They all had boys. I dunno what that tells you, but I think it's true.

No truth to that. Old wives tales. The position of your uterus could very well determine how you carry your child.
