do women like to be thin for themselves, for their men, or for other women to see?

Question

most men i know like and prefer a woman around size 12-16 or so

but it seems many women would be happier to be a size 8 or less.

why?

Id say - from personal experience - that men prefer woman with curves, not fat maybe but somthing to cuddle or 'play with' as one male friend says - about 2 1/2 years ago I got really skinny and was wearing a size 4 weighing just under 7 stone - I had NO dates in this time, I have since met my boyfriend (he was a good friend before) and he encouraged me to put on weight as he thought I looked ill BUT a lot of girls all complimented me saying 'oooh look how lovely and thin you are' and 'you are so lucky' etc...im now a healthy weight for my height of about 81/2 stone and wear an 8-10 so still small, I now get attention from guys again but I have days I look at skinny girls in magazines or when out and think - i wish I was skinny again! Weather for me, guys or girls I dont know - all I know is the pressure is there to be slim (for any Americans an english size 8 is a US size 4)

The onus is on the I. There is littel more beautiful than a self confident and assured person. If a person is person with the self, then whatever the self constitutes is right. A lack of self esteem and gaucheness in even the most perfectly formed will render a person boring and insufficient.
As long as you are totally confident and feel attractive, this outlook will be conveyed to those around you. True Beauty is a state of being. All also being Loved. The beauty of a loved man or woman is captivating, bewitching almost....

Women like to be thin in order to wear those lovely clothes which used to fit them, which they know their men liked to see them in and which are hanging reproachfully in the wardrobe.

It is well known that women dress to impress other women. Men don't on the whole notice. And other women are invariably impressed at the idea of someone being able to squeeze into a size 8.

Sometimes I do wish that ladies should understand that we love them because of what they are. Such a pity that ladies sometimes do so much when they already have every asset they could want. Men's taste in the opposite sex is so variable, thin ,fat, big boobs, little boobs, long legs, short legs, little woman big woman. In my case all ladies have rather special assetts, add on intelligent conversation, perhaps a joke or two and some consideration and understanding and your a winner. Ladies, every one of you has been blessed with assetts that we men cannot resist, somewhere there is a man for you without doubt, that I know you will please and please you.

its hotter. the men i know all want the skinniest girls. i was anorexic and got down to 98 lbs a few years ago, and i had every mans eye and tons after me everyday. now i am a normal weight (im 5'6 weigh 130) im still hott, but i notice now just a glance here and there, not the mouth open stares i used to get.

Pressure, magazines, films, every celeb who's stick thin. Makes me wonder about girls as young as 6 or 7 being frightened to put on weight. I would only do it for myself on health grounds.
