He can't. You have to be out of high school three years to be eligible for the NFL draft, and Tebow is a true sophomore.

Hey, Tim! You wanna answer this one??

Oh well, in his absence I'll give it a shot...

The only way Tim could be eligible this year is if his "high school" senior definition is reinterpreted (Tebow was home schooled). So let's play "what-if"...

With the quarterback shortage in the NFL, Tebow will never find a better market for his services. And he would be going out on top - another collegiate season might only tarnish his rep. Finally, playing in the SEC, he's ready for the NFL. So, yes, he should come out if possible.

As to where? At 0-13, Miami will likely have first pick and a Tebow selection would play very well to the home state. He would also be a good cornerstone in the rebuilding process from the mess Saban left behind.

Currently (today is 12/13/07), New England has the second pick, as long as the 49ers keep losing. Tebow would be a good investment for future Brady replacement.

Next choice, if the Falcons can out-lose the 49ers and Rams, would be Atlanta. They need help at that position and Tebow can perform in the originally Vick-oriented offense. (Might out-Vick Vick!) With the Pittino debacle, bringing in Tebow would be a great start to a turnaround, both on the field and in the press.

Tim, ya listening?

The short answer was Tim Tebow was not ready. As the quarterback who won the Heisman, he was more a running back than a typical quarteback & did not illustrate the arm strength of an NFL quality passer. This year Tim attempted to be more a drop back passer to illustrate further dimensions of his abilities. However, the NFL scouts still are upon the fence about what positions is most suitable for him. No one sees him coming out of the draft playing as a quarterback. That begs the question of where does he fit. Considering the team's needs in question, the answer does vary widely. If that is the case, then what value do place upon a skilled player if you cannot assign him to a particular position. Therefore, he must carry out his senior year in my humble opinon. But if he wins the championship game, then I believe he would place his name in the draft to his detriment.

Tebow is not allowed to declare himself eligible for the draft until after the 2008 season. As of now he is a true sophomore and the rule stipulates that you can't play in the NFL until you've been out of high school for at least 3 years. Tebow has one more year to go. If you want to know if he'll leave after his junior year, I think he will unless he gets hurt. He's already got a Heisman and a National Championship, he doesn't have much else to play for.

Tim Tebow, a sophomore, will not be eligible for the NFL draft until after his junior year.

And for the nutcake that knocked his home schooling, Tebow's GPA at Florida is about 3.77 out of a possible 4.0 Not too shabby.

He is not ready for the NFL, plus he will get seriously hurt by a faster LB or safety.

His passing game needs more work, plus he needs to just take it slow and enjoy the college life. The NFL isn't going anywhere.

No way! He has to refine his QB skills, specifically passing accuracy before even thinking about the NFL. That tuck and run crap he does at the college level would never work in the NFL. There is way too much speed in the NFL for that nonsense to work and no one would last 60 minutes trying that sh!t.

It is not possible for him to declare himself for the draft. A player has to be 3 years removed from their highschool graduation in order to declare. Very few sophomores can declare for the NFL draft.

He can't, and even if he could, the statistics are overwhelmingly better for QBs who made more starts at the college level, so it wouldn't be wise.

The Big XII is JV football compared to the SEC. Vandy is probably as good as Kansas.

Simple answer. No. Just because he won the Heisman doesn't mean he isn't still developing. He will be at Florida for at LEAST another year. That is regardless of the 3-years-out-of-highschool rule, which will hold him back anyways.
