I must admit, I've not seen the Champ but I saw a clip of it on that "100 saddest film moments" (or another similar title) and it really depressed me, it looks so sad.

I wept like a baby at:
Green Mile (when you realise the truth about the death of the children)
Watership Down ("Bright Eyes" bit, with the little bunny looking for Hazel)
Finding Neverland (the bit near the end where Freddie Highmore's eyes are all welled up..oh, that even gets me, just thinking about it)
Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - the bit with Gov. Swann
Ghost (bit near the end)
I know it's not a film moment, but the last bit with Charlie at the end of Lost S3

Oh, there are several more, I'm sure..

That would have to be "Saving Private Ryan" when at the end the old man starts crying and bend down over the grave of his friend, then he asked his wife did he "Earn it" to live through the war. Great movie with Tom Hanks and Matt Damon.

Oh gee, some great answers. However, I cry when a beloved pet dies (especially dogs). I can't watch Old Yeller. I did cry in Green Mile, the Notebook and Beaches (plus a few more I can't remember).

Without a doubt, the end of It's a Wonderful Life. Actually the last 20 minutes of that film kill me every time.

It has to be the scene in We Were Soldiers when the letters of the dead are being delivered to the families and the beautiful young black lady recieves the letter that her husband died. She was great in that scene. I cried like a baby.

Any film with great theme music does it for me
(e.g., Chariots of Fire; Dr Zhivago (Lara's Theme)).

Of course, nearly all great comedies, such as those by the Marx Bros and Jerry Lewis, make me cry with laughter! The only modern comic who makes that grade is ventriloquist Jeff Dunham.

When Richie Valens' family find out he died in La Bamba, or the end of Life Is Beautiful and of Hotel Rwanda, if you have seen these films.

you maximum possibly are attaching your self to the characters, and empathizing with them. it somewhat is possibly greater unhappy to you by using fact it somewhat is a few thing you relate with greater. case in point, i did no longer initiate crying for the duration of movies whilst a character's pal might die until I fell in love. I ball my eyes out for the duration of distinctive movies lol. The computing device, My canine bypass, etc.
