It is fairly easy to read, but only by people who are capable of reading properly spelled words, and who are capable of gleaning the context from the text (i.e., it is not the letters or words that an intelligent, literate person views, but the "thought" behind it, allowing the brain to "gloss over" (the word is "elide") the misspelled words with little problem (thus, the "Eureka!" or "I get it!" response most people have to what you wrote).

People with poor literacy would find it incomprehensible, but, then again, they would find properly spelled text incomprehensible as well.

However, had you used a school book as your text, with a more esoteric subject, such as Philosophy or Economics, I'm willing to bet that fewer people would have understood it, correctly spelled or otherwise! ;)

And, yes, spelling is important.

No prob. Is it raley only 55% of peeps wot can understand it? Spect the 45% inclood a lot who carnt speel!

And spelling IS important - it holds up literate people while they think - what a lazy and/or igonorant this writer is.

It also creates a bad first impression - and you only get one chance at a first impression.
