no, it could just mean that you have fallen on hard times and instead of buying something you could bake something or make something if you are crafty. i know this year money is a little tight for my husband and I ....we are just going to focus on the kids, his sister and my grandparents...everyone else, I plan on baking some goodies or making candles for.

Not at all. I'm only giving two this year, where we used to give loads of gifts. My ideals about Christmas & people have changed. The world has changed, & next year I hope to give none. It's all become too much for people. Stress, burdens, lack of money, time, dealing with people. Too much.

No because sometimes people give gifts of goodie baskets of fruit,cookies and candy.Even giving something of value you own to someone can be considered a gift of value.
