Run 2 cups of white vinegar through it. This will clean the jets.:)

Tang....fill the wash cup and run the dishwasher and all the stains will go away. One of the sources below says to run it empty with both soap and Tang, the other says to run it with half a container of Tang (I am assuming they do NOT mean a Costco Tang container, but I am sure that WOULD work).

Now, I'm assuming you want to remove the brown stains--if your dishwasher is actually dirty I think you should have a repair person take a look at it...the dishwasher soap is quite caustic and certainly should keep the machine as clean as the dishes.

Haven't tried it yet but I have read in multiple places that a packet of KoolAid Yellow Lemonade.

I have heard bad things about the dishwasher cleaning in the store, that is leaves films and does not rinse off completely.

It depends on the problem. Using vinegar is a common solution for hard water stains, check this article for other suggestions.

If you have brown stains it's probably iron in the water. "IronOut" works great for this. It's avaiable at large grocery stores, hardware stores and home centers.

Try CLR available at Wal-mart. Vinegar does work as well.
