Outsourcers from the United States have used China to destroy the American middle class. I assume you mean "threat" in a more conventional military sense, though. I'd say "threat" in the sense of being most likely to suck us into war, any country in the middle east.

The biggest threat to the US is the US. We control our own destiny. The Principles of Liberty that we were founded upon made us a real tough nut to crack. Sadly, we have strayed away from these principles. I think Daniel Webster said it best.
"I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe... Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing."
- Daniel Webster, 1837

Russia. I don't think most people believe Iran is a great threat to the US. Certainly the 16 US intelligencies don't.

Our biggest threat at the moment is Mexico. With an open border we are being flooded with illegals and drugs. We even have armed soldiers crossing our border.
China is not really that big of a threat because they depend on us as much as we depend on them.
Our biggest threat is Islamic violence and their determination to be a "war" power. We can not allow that to happen the damage they do in terrorism world wide is nothing compared to what they would do if they had nuclear weapons. The disruptions in the world they are causing are shaking the roots of western civilization. Europe deals with it daily while we try to prevent it from coming here.

Economically? That would be china, since thats where we're loaning from. Militiristically too. Howevver, politically, it could be the european union, with the euro priced so high and the union so large...
