OK my guppy just died.. she was heavily pregnant. I tried to save her babies but they were to young. I think she had worms because she had like 5 red threads coming out of her well down there. Now my other guppy has those threads too, she also looks like shes moulting her scales. These two females were in with two other males and 30 fry. The females are gone but the males airnt. One doesnt look to good i think hes just too old. the thing im worried about is how do i cure the worms and will my cichlid tank 180L be infected as i had the females in there earlier today and decided to put them in my smaller tank with the fry. And my major problem is i have catfish loaches and fry whitch are all hard to treat (lower doses). See my problem?

HELP how do i cure the worms? i live in Australia QLD and will my beloved cichlid tank fishes be ok?? Im scared any help!!

First of all, check your ammonia levels, if they're higher then 0.25, do a 50% waterchange right away and put 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt to 5 gallons

Your cichlids should be fine, since you didn't have them in there for very long

as for the orange, i do agree that it's poop, usually the color comes from the food

The female could have died due to stress, which happens very often, since they're not the strongest of fish, just a change of tanks can cause them lots of stress as well as aborting them the fry

Please add additional info like:
how long has the tank been running
what are the water parameter readings "ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH"
also what's the temperature in your tank, do you have a heater and filter in your tank
when, how much and how often do you do waterchanges
what size is your tank
what else do you have in your tank, other fish, plants what decorations
did you put your female into a breeder or not

My advice is to get any fish that looks dodgey OUT OF THAT TANK

Add 1 teaspoon of dissolved aquarium salt per gallon to whatever you put the dodgey fish in as this should kill off any paracites. Failing this, then some clove oil with the dodgey fish should do the trick along with some cheap vodka

Whatever happens you must seperate them or they will all die. Simple

The worms you are talking about sounds like poop, it is long and usually red in color, so no problem there. Moulting scales, I am thinking maybe ick? If it is just go to local pet/fish store and ask for ick medicine, just put drops in tank (goes on size of tank not size of fish). Also wont hurt them if that is not the problem. I wouldn't think that your female was in your larger tank long enough to hurt the fish in it but watch it.

Seperate them and change the water.
