It could be several things. It could be a faulty power source. If this were the case, you'd get hard crashes (no blue screen or other error messages, just turned off completely).

If there's a faulty piece firmware, software, or other hardware, you'll probably have an error message. If this is the case, post the error message.

You may be infected. If this is the case, try this out:

To get yourself clean:

Download Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, HiJackThis, and Avira Antivir.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode (start tapping F8 as soon as the computer starts to boot up, then choose Safe Mode with Networking).

Install the software. I'm assuming you don't have other AV software, but if you do, it's probably a good idea to uninstall that and install Avira Antivir, because obviously the last one wasn't up to the task of keeping you clean.

After installing, make sure to update the software to get the latest definitions (this is why we chose Safe Mode with Networking).

Attempt to run the software from Safe Mode. You may have to restart the computer to complete installations. If you do, just go back into Safe Mode. Run what software you can (not all software can be run in Safe Mode; I'm not sure if Ad-Aware can), then restart into normal mode and run the software again.

N.B. By default, HiJackThis will give you "false positives" because it wants you to see everything that's there and have you decide what should be there and what shouldn't be. make sure to find out what needs to be taken off. Could be Windows Update. The Power supply maybe messed up, I suggest getting a new Power Supply pref. 450WATT or also can be the Graphics Card, usually the fan on the Video card is not moving, the graphics card will heat up and eventually crash the computer, happens a lot with smaller cards that can't handle much. Or hardware can be loose. Many different factors are involved. may also be the BIOS, or cause your computer is heating up. VirusScan, also, Many differen't factors maybe involved, good luck.

hello. it may be a virus, simply run a check on it. possibly a shortfall between the power you need and the power output available, or simply a dying psu. have you checked your bios to see if the temperature settings are too low. be very careful not to mess about in here to much. is your cpu fan still running? if not then replace it. you could always add another fan to help keep things a bit cooler. if you have any trouble just email me i would be happy to go into it in further detail.

Undo the side of the case and see if everything is coated in fine dust, especially the cooling fins on the heat sinks for the processor chips. Carefully vacuum out any dust (preferably with a Dyson). I had this problem and I overcame it in this way. Worth doing at six-monthly intervals.

is your computer scheduled to shut down?

It may also be overheating. I recommend you to open up your computer and check all air intake and outtake areas for debris and dust. If the intake and the outtake becomes obstructed, the computer could overheat, causing the safety mechanism to kick in and cause a hard shutdown.

There are many reasons. Running out of battery, charger not working, virus/hackers... in your PC. Try getting it checked by a technician and it should be OK.
