The new high end cards (8800GT, HD 3850/3870) that support PCIe 2.0 are backward compatible with PCIe 1.1. They both utilize the x16 PCIe slot. It is actually the multicard set ups (SLI or X-Fire) that would greatly benefit from the wide bandwidth of PCIe 2.0.

hi thomas yes, that should be fine.... the original left 4 dead is not that demanding and will run on most modern pc,s built within the last few years, infact some intergrated graphic processors(igp) will run left 4 dead... your ATI Radeon HD 4350 isnt one of the fastest radeon cards however it supports pixel and shader model 4.1 and direct x 10.1 and has 1gb of ddr memory.. so that more than meets the requirements for l4d you may have to lower some detail and resolution settings... the best method is to work your way up from the default settings (thats the settings automatically set by the game after installation ) .. and when you reach the highest detail which will run the game smoothly then save these however you may be suprised how your card runs this game... i have a XFX GTS250 and can max out the detail and set the resolution to 1920x1080 ... and it runs great .... you will love left 4 dead though.... its one of the rawest first person shooters around... no puzzles,no logic... just pure unadulterated shooting ...and loads of blood ! note: left 4 dead requires a steam account...and a active internet connection ... any problems let me know good luck thomas !
