The Meso-Americans, the Toltec's, Olmec, Mayans, Incans, etc....were every bit as sophisticated socially, architecturally as any civilization. They had a complex structure in religion, leadership and relations with other groups. However, because they didn't have such an intermingling with other diverse groups...in other words, they were cut off, so to speak, by geography from interaction with Europe, Asia and Africa, their civilization developed along other avenues.
It isn't logical to try to compare them. There is no way to know what they would have achieved if Europeans hadn't collapsed their societies.
