I don't think people go around having sex and say to themselves well if i get pregnant i will just get an abortion. Being 13 years old how are they going to afford an abortion (Price ranges from 300 bucks to 1 thousand) plus they need mommy's signature.

NO ONE THINKS THAT ABORTION IS A FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL!!! Dont you people realise that abortion has been going on a LONG LONG time!! its only now that it has been seen in the public eye more frequent as people are more willing to discuss issues like this. Children as young as 12 or 13 who come on here and ask questions are probably doing the right thing. How can a child raise a child? No one thinks its birth control but they see it as an option that they have if something arrises that they cannot take care of. 12 and 13 year olds have more interest in sex at a young age because tv programs thrust sex and sexual activities in their faces from a very young age. It encourages them that things like this are ok. Children are growing up way to fast in todays society. Gone are the days when 8 year olds played with dolls, now they want to wear make up. See what im saying? its all about the evolvement of society. However no one said it was a good change.

I would like to think that the kids parents are educating them about sex and how a baby is made, but maybe I have got that wrong, lol. I don't agree with abortion being used as birth control, but I am also pro choice and isn't it up the the female in question as to how she treats her body? In some cases it may be better for a 12 or 13 yo to have an abortion that raise a baby all by themselves and then the baby/child has a crappy life. All I can say now is I really hope I educate my kids a lot better than all these young girls apparently having abortions for birth control. Parents need to be taught how to talk to their kids. Or at least listen with out judging them!!!

You have a valid point but I think it's an exaggeration.
While there are some, even many teenagers who view abortion as a form of birth control, you will find that the majority see it as a big issue and not to be taken lightly.
Sex ed. is getting better and better so hopefully in the future everyone will feel this way and there will be no one viewing abortion as birth control.
But even if they are, that is their choice and we have to let them live their lives the way that they choose to.

Abortion is not a method of contaception. It is a serious operation with many side-effects, psychological and physical, which can lead to death, ectopic pregnancies later - which is very dangerous - or infertility. Plus, it is a sytupid waste of a human life, since nowadays THERE ARE SO MANY EFFECTIVE CONTRACEPTION SOLUTIONS, THAT IT IS STUPID TO GET PREGNANT UNLESS YOU WANT TO. Sorry for shouting, but people must hear this. An unwanted pregnancy in our societies should be an oxymoron. And don't forget: a condom must be used from the beginning to the end of sex, pregnancy and diseases can happen even before ejaculation!

It is concerning but abortion to me is pro choice, it is their body their right. Unfortunately we should really be looking at what is leading up to it who is watching over these kids, guiding them teaching them. Prehaps if these children were taught the right lessons then maybe we would not have the problem of teenagers getting abortions. If the right health education was implemented in schools and dare I say morals but not rightious morals in the home. Teenagers are hard to control, I know I was when I was one but then again I learnt from my life lessons and I hope that my kids will benefit from my mistakes. The more you yell at them the further away you will push them and even push them into rebellion against you. Prehaps a bit of reverse psychology is in order.

Kids that age are starting to go through puberty and it is NORMAL for them to wonder about such things.
Abortions cost about $400 and up. So it's doubtful that it will ever become birth control. Especially since the pill is generally free at health clinics and condoms are inexpensive.
And adolescents should know about abortion, birth control, condoms, masturbation, abstinence. They should know all their options and there is nothing wrong with that.

There is a woman that I casually know who has had 5 abortions...and it absolutely disgusts me. I have no respect for people who use abortion as a form of birth control.

no because 90 % of those kids can't afford abortions. They just ask out of curiosity, don't get me wrong I'm sure some do but for the most part no.
