bad press ,well here are a couple of decent lads showing the other side of the coin don't you think?
A good deed cost two teenagers their lives, friends said last night.Shaun Barnes and Luther Storr, both 17, had been on a nightout when they saw a friend's sister being attacked by bullies. They stepped in to rescue 14-year-old Ruby Pateman and see her off safely on the last train from King's Lynn, Norfolk. But the delay meant the Good Samaritans missed a promised lift home and, with no more trains running, they faced a six-mile walk.
They chose the most direct route – along the railway line. But the friends never arrived in the Norfolk village of Watlington
The following morning, their bodies were spotted by a train driver about two miles short of their destination. They are believed to have been hit by a high-speed train which would have come on them from behind.
The tragedy has devastated friends and relatives. My thoughts are with their families who should be very proud of them

assalam wa alykum sister first of all u should thank Allah who has guided u towards light. Al-Mumenoon | The Believers Sura # 23 | Makkah 1. Successful indeed are the believers, 2. Who are humble in their prayers, 3. And who keep aloof from what is vain, 4. And who are givers of poor-rate, 5. And who guard their private parts, 6. Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blamable, 7. But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 8. And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 9. And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 10. These are they who are the heirs, 11. Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein.

That is just so sad and yes their families should be very proud.I agree that teenagers are always getting bad press and its a shame because Ive often had teenagers offering me help with the buggy(when my daughter was a baby) and carrying heavy bags for me.

if these lads were my sons, i'd be proud of them for coming to a young girls aid.
i dread to think what may of happened to her if these two hadn't stepped in.
it's very sad that they lost their lives after doing such a good deed, the high-speed train was their downfall & hopefully it was instant, as dying slowly beside a train-track is the last thing you would wish on two good samaritans.
my thoughts are with their families, i hope they may they take some small comfort in knowing their boys are a shining example to all youngsters, putting a friend in distress, before themselves & their last lift home.

That is tragic. Many teeneagers will tell you they are sick of the bad press they get because of the behavciour of what realistically is a tiny percentage. That's the press for you though, love to dwell on bad news and not portray good. Shame our society has become this way isn't it.

This is a sad story. No-one is denying that. But there's one plain fact you have ignored: anyone with any sense knows it's suicide to walk along a railway line. These 17 year olds should have known better.

I agree it is very sad, but you must never walk along the railway track, I'm sorry but that is just asking for trouble.

Very tragic. But what on earth made them think they would be safe walking along railway tracks.
