I find this sad, the MacCanns know she is dead and in their desperate attempts to appear innocent they actively enable and encourage newspapers to print this nonsense. In trying to save their own skins they have no qualms in what has resulted from this, a cheapening devaluation of their daughters memory .I don't know about everyone else but i'm weary of their lies, for gods sake, if they would only tell the truth, and shame the devil !

Notice that they don't say which Xmas!
If there are police in two countries working on the case, why is there a need to spend the fund money on this firm of detectives? Even the McCanns can't believe that what's being said is true, or they'd be off like a shot to be reunited.....or would they?

I can't help thinking it's a load of guff. I've heard some very rash statements come from Meteo 3 - if the press reports are indeed true.
Precisely though, why is it taking so long?

The Metodo 3 are lying, cheating crooks who are happy to string this fiasco out in order to rake in the money and the McCanns are happy to go along with the charade because it takes the heat of them and keeps the abduction theory alive ,also the money they are frittering away is not theirs. The general public are getting wise to all this rubbish and are sick of the whole thing. The quicker the Mcs and friends are interviewed the better.

If you look at the tabloid headlines over a period of time (Private Eye do this occasionally) there is a whole string of bizarre and contradictory statements - She is definitely alive, definitely dead, without a doubt in Morocco, without a doubt in Portugal, and so on ad nauseum. It all boils down to inexpert speculation, with no point other than to sell papers.

Everyone here has said it all. No reputable detective would disclose anything about a case unless it was resolved. I agree with the other posters, its just another way to rope in the gullible public and their money and deflect attention away from the parents and their lies.

It would be lovely if that could happen, but I cant help feeling that the private investigators are only saying that to stay on the McCanns payroll.
They are not really likely to say 'nope, we havent got a clue where she is'. This is a nice little earner for them.

To be honest, i did find it weird reading about Madeleine being found by Christmas. Surely, if they had clues where she was they wouldn't wait for Christmas. Then i realised that perhaps what the investigators meant was it would be lovely IF she were home for Christmas which statement could easily have been twisted by the media to affort the discussion we now have.
As i see it, when (not if...when hope is all you have, you don't give it up...) Madeleine does return home, everyday will be Christmas day for the McCanns.

I challenge Mr Marco to a one thousand pound bet right here right now, that Madeleine will NOT be home by Christmas.
Cmon Mr Marco, be a man and stand up for your convictions.
Oh thats right, youre just bleeding publicly donated money dry by doing the whole 'Oh we are nearly there ........ just a little bit longer ........'
Thats right Mr Marco, keep stringing them along and raking in your £2000 a day ............... pathetic.
