And the smugglers that end up in jail just didn't pay the right amount of bribes. there are pipes everywhere in Vietnam. If you want to bring in a High quality bong just make sure that is has never been used and pack it in your checked baggage. The odds of the baggage being opened are slim and even if the bag is opened, the Vietnamese are so used to seeing pipes that they are not going to give your any trouble.
But... Be cool. Unless this is something really specialized , you can buy it in Vietnam for less than you will pay for it where ever you live.

you can buy them there,just about any souvenier shop in sai gon. but if the pipe is clean you can certainly bring it in..just about every household ive ever been in in vn has a bong on the floor in the front room.. although they dont call it that.. ask for "dieu cay"..

yeah Viet Nam sure does take drug smuggling seriously and people get executed for it. it was just a few months ago i think where i read an article on someone getting executed for smuggling drugs over...i think they were austrailian
