Oz is good, so is South African. I have good friends in the UK, and the regional variations on accents there are cool - but some you can't understand!
In spoken English, I also like some variants on Spanish accents, esp. from Argentina. And let's remember that Marlene Dietrich made German accents sexy - every time I see a movie of hers, immediately I think of stiletto-heeled leather boots, whipped cream .... ummm, where was I?
In terms of the sound of any language, rather than the accent heard in spoken English, I think Argentine Spanish is the moust beautiful language in the work. It is like music, or a brook running over stones in a mountain stream.
PS - California, eh? which part? I lived most of my life there, all over the state, and people here in Florida say I have an accent! Hee, hee, California American English dialect is essentially "standard American broadcast" - the purest form of American English!
