Can you afford to heat your home, or are you sitting in the cold like me?

So far I'm still warm. Of course, it's been in the 60s and 70s here lately, so I've had the doors open and letting the breeze flow through the house! Anywho, I have six bedrooms and two floors, so I have two separate heating systems with two heat pumps and a propane backup system. It gets extremely expensive in the winter. I changed the setting on the backup system so it doesn't come on until the outside temperature hits 30 degrees, but it still sucks that propane like crazy! Hope it's a mild winter here this year!

the temperature in my house is 69, a little cold for myself even in the summer I like my house to warmer than that, I get cold in people's houses that crank their air.
As far as heating assistance goes, I know that when I was a single mom not really working that great of a job and paying all of my bills on my own that I made to much to qualify so it's not like if you don't qualify you can automatically afford it. It seems the ones that are just barely over all of those limits are the ones that suffer the most. One day this will all change for me. Good Luck with those winter heating bills.

Sitting in the cold, like you! I wear extra clothes and have a blanket I run and put in the dryer every hour to warm myself up a little. I make the dogs sleep with me at night for their warmth. I just can't afford to keep the place warm. Sucks, don't it?

Yeah I have heat until the oil runs out- Then I'll be burning the furniture.
Where are you? Every state here has a heat assistance program.
