At least on a PC, there is no simple way to do this. Pressing the print screen key will NOT capture the cursor.
Here is a link to a freeware product that has options to capture the cursor. Note: I have never used this program, so I leave it to you to figure out the details.

No, those don't work, it erases the cursor.
And Paint Shop Pro requires using the cursor to outline the area to capture.
Ah, ha
There are capture options that include capturing the whole window and including the cursor. Other edit programs with capture may have the same choice. In Paint Shop, you go to File / Import / Screen Capture / Options and choose Window - I always had mine set to outline the area.

on your screen, you have to show what you want, if you want the cursor to be there place the cursor on the location you want it to be.
then press shift + Print screen to capture the screen image, open paint or any other image editing program and paste your picture by pressing cntrl + V keys. or if you want paste the image direct to your document like word, ppt etc.
the nice thing about using an editor is that you can clean up the picture better.

Get DemoCreator, which creates software tutorials and training courses by recording screen activities, but more than a screen recorder, you can record mouse movements and keystrokes along with screenshots, even you can add some callouts, notes, animations to it, even more, you can easily add the narration from microphone or import audio file directly. At last, you can publish it to Flash, auto-run CD, EXE, e-mail, with LMS compliance. As you know, flash file has smaller size and is safer for transmission, i think it will be useful for you!
Good luck!
Cheers!
You can try it for free to see if it works for what you need it for.

Press the Print Screen (PrtScrn) key on your keyboard, then open an image editing program and paste. (And then print from that program).
