Carlos my friend you are making a very large presumption that I am English..... WRONG
To everyone else:
I agree that English fans before were a huge problem in the 80s and that why all English clubs were banned from European competition for 5 years, my question is in case you missed the point is should Italian teams be treated the same way now? and if not why not

yes they probably should be banned. Someone above mentioned about the English fans causing havoc about 20 years ago and part of curing the british problem of hooliganism was to ban all British teams from europe between 1985 and 1990, this forced the authorities to sort out the problem. The same tough action needs to be taken with the italians rather than waiting for a truly terrible event to force UEFA to do something.

Well, actually in Spain we're scared of the British hooligans. Which is actually v. embarrassing for me as I'm half English and everyone seems to remember in such glorious occasions. Quite a few Barcelona citizens were hurt after the latest Scotish visit for the Champion's match and the center of the city was destroyed by drunken people. And I'm sorry to say that this is the general impression in Spain of English fans. People get really scared when they hear they're coming and the actually ask for ENGLISH fans to be banned of traveling abroad for matches, not Italians.

If you can't control your fans and for safety reasons Italian Soccer should be hung out to dry. English Clubs got banned for Hyssell so Italian Clubs should get banned for there how many incidents.

Dec 23, 2007 at Inter Milan, 9:00 am
AC Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with his side's 1-1 Champions League draw at Portuguese side Benfica and subsequent qualification for the knockout stages. "I liked the way the team played," he announced at the final whistle. "They (Benfica) gave it their all to win but the goalscoring chances toward the end belonged to us. I am very happy to have qualified for the next round." The Rossoneri entertain fellow giants Juventus on Saturday in what promises to be an entertaining and feisty affair. Ancelotti is without Marek Jankulovski and Emerson through injuries

Its not right to punish the teams, make the game a closed match so no home support is allowed. How they treated English clubs in the past was wrong, better surveillance in and around the ground is required, they could learn a lot from us.

its seems that hooliganism is an more frequent problem again, with holland, germany turkey and of course italy,........
play games behind closed doors and slap the clubs with big fines, coupled with better policing and making sure no idiot with a weapon can gain acess to a ground. police shuld alos take a zero tolerance attitude toward the thugs and stop
giving the notorious ultras their freedom to orcastrate the trouble.
the blame lies with the footballing authorities, the clubs and the police, stamp it out from the top down, most of the hooligans are well known
SO IN SHORT.
NO DONT BAN THEM , SORT IT OUT AT THE SOURCE

No. Then they'd have to ban Italians besides there wouldn't be much competition like the hot headed Wops. The Russkies would take over then.

i think of that once tonights interest between Valencia & Inter there'll be intense repurcutions for the two communities. i think of that the two communities would desire to be banned from Europe next season besides because of the fact the the two communities gamers being banned for long sessions extremely the Valencia participant that replaced right into a replace & ran directly to the sphere & punched the Italian participant & broke his nostril.

no not ban them.. it wouldnt be fair
just make it everytime they play in italy it is played indoors with no fans.. and then they will realise what theyre missing out on..
also.. dont allocate tickets for away team when they play overseas!
wouldnt be fair to ban the team when they had nothing to do with the violence.
