I was trying to establish a ftp server with the help of in built windows - XP sp2
OS ftp server,but whenever i try to copy any file to that connection or TCP/IP code opened
website it shows " An error occured creating a folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to put
put files on the server.Details 550 New folder : Access is denied."
so , how can i get the permission & is it freely acquired. help me out !!

Like ColinC said, you do need to configure the server to allow users. with XP server the anonymous user is configured by default! You can login as that but that in itself has limitations.

You need to configure the ftp server to allow upload, this is turned off by default for security reasons. always set it to only allow upload to known users with authenticated passwords or you can end up with a trashed system in a few days.
