I used to enjoy my birthdays so much, but now that I have a baby, it's just another day. You know, my mom used to say "today is just another day like any other day...nothing special" and now I'm beginning to say it...Scary. I miss the days of enjoying your birthday the whole day through...oh well.
Happy Birthday to your son!

Honestly, yes. When you get to be my age, it's rough getting a year older. I also had a couple of momentous tragedies happen on my birthday, so I don't look forward to the day. But at the same time, I'm grateful to be alive!
Best wishes!

i m 15 this year and am not really looking forward to my birthday next month, probably i just dont like getting too much extra attention on that day. you feel like everyone is looking at whatever you do, buying you presents and hope for a response from you which i dont really know how to response if i dont really like it, and yea birthday song is the worst song ever, should i sing 'happy birthday to "me"'?? Cant it just be a normal day? i dont understand why do people celebrate them, what's so special about birthdays? blah. i hate birthday seriously. and luckily my birthday's on a sunday next year so i dont have to face my schoolmates.

It's okay; it's fun to celebrate with friends and family on your birthday. You feel special. Maybe your son doesn't enjoy much of celebrating. Maybe bring him on a trip for his birthday or something? It sounds like he doesn't give a care whatsoever about his birthday.

Happy Birthday to him for starters.
I LOVE my Birthday.
I'm 37 on the 26th of December and I can't wait.
I celebrate my birthday every year with a bang.
I look forward to it every year.
Hopefully your son is only going through a phase.

It's the same for me. When I turned 22 I was too busy studying . I spent the evening eating a pizza . My mom sent a gift...let's just say the "thought" counted.

Yes. I'm glad when it's over. I never mention it either because I like it to slip by unnoticed. I have felt this way since I was a kid.
