what do you identify with if you are of two different races? Iam half black and half white and I identify with black because my mom taught me that, because when in public places no one will ever say I'm white of course but Iam obviously black to people when they see me, and the fact that people can be very racists at times. I hate it when people meet my mom and say "thats your mom"? Like she can't be because she is white. lol. people are funny at times.

I think you should embrace both sides of your heritage! It's rich, so be proud of it. I can't imagine having to straddle the fence of being two races at the same time... it must be difficult. And yes.... the general public will always see you as a "black" man rather than a biracial one. Just let people know that they've made an ignorant comment whenever they say something like that about your mother. Good luck!

well I can't really relate exactly to you because only one of my parents are interracial and not the other. My mom is half black and half native american, and my dad is black american but I look totally black so I identify as black. My mom looks black too just with long silky hair so people look at her as a black woman and not really mixed.

Black is dominant remembers no such this as bi racial. If you that If you are mixed with black you are black.
My mom taught me the same thing. Think of it like this.. If the US was taken over by racists and black people were shipped back to Africa, you would be on that ship with everybody else!
Any minority race is considered dominant over thewhite race, however black people have the dominant gene over all others. If you are mixed you are black honey. One drop of black blood, that is what you are! Embrace your heritage love it! I do

I am 50% black, 25% native american and 25% asian. I was also told to go with black when I was younger because my parents didnot want me to be confused with society and the race factor so I identify as a black woman. I do however study my native american side as well as my asian side and it works for me.

Look at it in the positive way.. Best of both worlds right? My little second cousins are interracial. There father is white, and there mother is hispanic. They are going to be great kids when they get older. But they both teach them to take pride in both races. Embrace both Mexican and European culture.

I'm half Iranian and half Kiowa so I know how you feel. It's weird because I look Iranian because I have light skin like my dad but my brother and sister look native american because they have dark skin like my mom. People always think I'm adopted. But it's really cool to have a mixed culture.

Your mom taught you wrong just like most mothers do of biracial children. You are not black. You are BIRACIAL. You need to embrace both sides even if some people will hate you for it.

I have four bloods streaming in my veins - Jewish, Russian, Polish and Caraimean. I consider myself as a Jew. I just live and that's all. Don't let other opinions get in your way. You were born this way, man. Enjoy it. Racists? They are just uneducated narrow-minded shmucks. I ignore them.
