my newly acquired Angelfish is being rather mean to my normally big macho Betta. is there a way to stop this, or a way to lessen the stress on the Betta?

see, i had many fish....
ur angle fish is newly acquired ...probably it needs privacy..
wat u cud do is :
1)separate ur tank into 2 by keepin a glass slab in between
2)by doin this ur anglefish wont get disturbed
3)but after sumtime,both these fish will definitely bcum friendly..
4)then u can remove that slab in between
this was told by a person in the acquarium when i bought my flower horn....

The reason he is mean to him, is because they're not suppose to be together in the same tank
a betta is very slow moving, whereas an angel is very quick and aggressive
you will have to separate them or bring your angel back and aquire fish which have short fins, like rasboras, danios, tetras, platies, mollies,.......

They are both aggressive and territorial fish. They probably aren't going to get along and one might ultimately injure or kill the other. You might want to consider taking one out and putting it into another aquarium or returning the Angelfish.

why on earth would you put these two types of fish together?ANGELS are mean/nippy fish towards others.(especially when on heat!)
Give the betta his own space...

Betta's don't get along with even them self's. There a killer fish and other fish sense that.
