Are you talking about someone specific? i know the older generation would prefer to set their childeren up. To them it's more about oh my what will people say if my daughter has a loved marriage. They worry that people will think that she was promiscous and had loose morals, but that is totally wrong. I think the younger generation is more geared towards the love marriage than the arranged marriage. At the end it doesn't really matter, because all marriages require the same thing, honesty, love, and dedication regardless of it being arranged or love

I don't think that old people actually hate "love marriages". However, with age comes wisdom and that many times "love" is blind to the faults of their passion. Also, many times young love is actually an infatuation and not love at all and within a few years the love is gone and young lovers end up hating one another.

Old people realize that love is only one part of a successful marriage and that many others things are involved that end up being more important. A girls family wants their daughter to marry a man that can take care of her financially and who comes from an equally good family. A young man's family also wants him to marry a girl from a good family.

Can't answer that because where I am from we do not have arranged marriages like evidently where you are from.

Only thing I can say about that is in the countries where I have lived that have arranged marriages it did not look like it work that good. Always seemed to be a chill between the husbands and wives. Neither one seemed happy.

If you are referring to love marriages as compared to arranged marriages, then your premise is not a universal one, but depends on the specific culture where you live.

Why do you assume all old people hate them when you likely only know an infinitesimally small percentage of old people?

Because they love to hate others.

Because old people are jealous of young lovers. What they can not do themselves they do not wish others to enjoy
