I would have to vote for Eddie Murphy. He has been a stand up comedian, a cop, a homeless guy, a criminal, the chosen one, a prince, a donkey, a nutty professor, a day care daddy, a ghost hunter, a nerd, ...and the list goes on. I do not believe there is a more diverse actor today who can claim all of the roles that Eddie Murphy can.

I f you really think about it...Brad Pitt has played death in Joe Black, crazy in 12 monkeys, a killer in California, a FBI agent with Robert Redford, a robber in Thelma and Louise, a lone damned lover in Legend of the Fall, a Las Vegas high roller thief in Oceans 11,12,& 13, young dumb cop in Seven whose wife gets her head chopped off, Achilles, where he really hurt his achilles tendon, , & an assasin in Mr & Mrs. Smith...I think I have left some out. But truly a wide range of characters. But so has George Clooney! Also Meryl Streep.

Brian Dennehy is one of my favorite actors. He's played many many different roles...good guys, bad guys, etc. He's so convincing in every movie role he's in, be it John Wayne Gacy or an attorney or a cop.
