It allows you to do business without leaving the the car. This sign most often seen on fast food restaurant, but also seen on some pharmacy buildings and banks. It is just an added convenience as well as a way to use a bit more fuel, as you will usually not be shutting off your vehicle when you are in the process of doing business with the company.

As far as I know, it means you can take your car in and order from your car, like a drive-in restaurant.
