What are people's thoughts on here about Garret Lisi's paper? It is pretty interesting. At least there are some predictions that the LHC can test.

Yes, 20, to be precise. Certainly exciting stuff; and there's great snowboarding to be had in and around Geneva too !

He recognizes the necessity that the TofE should be beautiful and inspire awe in us the same way looking up at an unpolluted night sky does. We certainly see that in the E8 form which is so beautiful and symmetric. Yet the E8 is so complex that if all its matrices were laid out in small print they say it would cover Manhattan.

If Dr. Lisi is right, that we may well be at the threshold of a new age in physics and engineering.

I'm still trying to understand it. But if Lee Smolin thinks it has potential, there must be something to it.
