In 2nd and 3rd test against Pakistan some of the critical l.b.w appeals made by Indian bowlers were turned down by the umpires. Re plays showed that batsmen were plum infront of the stumps. Actually in 3rd test, Simon Toufel must have been the Man of the Match. Because of his wrong decisions match was drawn. Otherwise India could have won the match.

Yes, LBW decisions should be referred to third umpire, if there is any doubt. Wrong decisions will change the entire scenario of the match, like which happened in the 3rd Test between India and Pakistan. Because of Simon Taufel and Rudi Koertzen, Pakistan managed to escape with a draw. Otherwise, India would have won the match rather comfortably on the 4th day or by the 5th day afternoon.

properly i've got seen those hi-tech issues get the respond very incorrect. yet there's a much bigger reason ... think of going to the third ump each time Warne or Mulitharan appealed? it would be woeful. If an umpire became basically left with one doubt (say 'did the ball hit the bat?' or 'became it too intense?'), then possibly then shall we visit the field however the appropriate determination if so is fairly "not out"! i think of it would be a shame because of the fact the personalities and talents of umpires have been critical to this great sport for extra advantageous than a century. One final concept - might new documents decrease than a third umpire scheme be equivalent to previous ones. effectively the income of the doubt could be bumped off.

It will be quite fair to both batsmen and bowlers if the lbw decisions are referred to 3rd umpire

If LBW is also refered to 3rd Umpire then, the umpire is standing there only to catch the sweaters & sunglasses of the players. wide & no ball can also be referered by 3rd umpire in that case.

It was trialled in the Johnnie Walker Superseries (Aus v Rest of the World in 2005) and it didn't really work. People want a decison reasonably quickly without the game having too many holdups.
