I love that, that is close to how I want to spell my first son's middle name Aleksander. The name Alex is just an awesome, strong name anyways.

If you don't have Russian heritage or some sort of family tradition of the name, I would think it's a bit odd - given that it's pronounced exactly like Alexander. Personally I'd need a good reason to make my child spend his life correcting people who "know" how his name is spelt.

I like it.
I like Alexander and though I dont like people making up spellings, I like the variants from different countries.
I particulary like Russian spellings, so go for it!
On a related note, I found out recently that a friend of mine I've been calling Alex (short for Alexandria I presumed) for ages is actually Aleks, short for Aleksandra. I think its a lovely spelling and a lovely name

It's a very good name. Personally, I like the spelling with an 'x' instead, but it doesn't matter. I also like Sasha, and I like Xander for short, too.

if you live in russia and that is the standard way to spell it then thats fine.
If you live anywhere else then spell it Alexander because I would hazard a guess that most people automatically know to spell it like this and its not a name that you would normally ask someone to spell for you. This will avoid any mispellings which are an absolute pain in the a*se.
Think of your child and what they will go through. Its a lovely name but is it for you or him...?

Pronounced like Alexander? It's cute, but I don't care for the ks personally. I'd rather have an x.

I love it - it's unique but not 'out there'. I love the way it sounds (not quite like Alexander), and it reminds me of the character on Sex and the City ;)
