It seems to be a mindless "in" thing to complain about fruitcakes. Either that or people are trying to eat them the wrong way. With a very sharp knife, slice it very very thin. Serve with tea or coffee. Yum.

don't you know? the same 10 fruitcakes have been "re-gifted" and shipped around the country for years.has anyone actually eaten a piece?
