In real world use. the difference is not that noticeable. The 7200 RPM drive will draw more power than the 5400 RPM drive, decreasing your battery life a bit.

Well...everything would load SLIGHTLY faster, but that extra speed comes with extra heat. I have 2 friends that have pretty much the same laptop, and the one with the 7200RPM hard drive is very uncomfortable to put on your lap...it gets too hot because of the hard drive.

You will find that unless your an incredibly fast Mac user who knows the OS better than they know themselves - the performance variation between at 5400rpm drive and a 7200rpm drive will be negligible.
