Hello. This may throw some for a loop- but think about Glenn Miller (Big Band era was important to America).
More 'recently';The Cars- the 80's was definitely a change since Elvis had died.(He also changed music).
How about Nirvana?
Well, that's 4, even though you may have only wanted Rock references..
