how come black people dominate most phsical activity and sports in America, football, basketball etc. are blacks simply more physically inclined? is it a natural thing, they make 13% of US population but 70% of professional sports. why is this??

Most of the answers so far are racist and have no scientific background.
The answer lies in many places, 'maskedpoet' is the closest to a civil answer.
For instance, genes. A lot of African-American's have more athletic genes than others. A lot are taller, more muscular and leaner. Why? You would have to study African-American culture from ancient times to current times to understand their evolutionary needs.
Also, a lot of inner city children view sports, particularly basketball, as a 'way out'. A lot of times people living that lifestyle can not make it out of their social scene without being drafted through a basketball program. Basketball courts are popular in inner cities scenes because they are a cheap form of entertainment for youth, which results in less crime if they have something to do. Most kids are poor in those cities, but all they need to develop skills is a ball.
These are just examples. Like most sociological questions, the answers have many roots and are rarely clear cut.

I hope my answer is not controversial or offensive to anyone, but one theory a professor of mine once put forth is that in the US, many African Americans are descendants of slaves. Therefore, when their ancestors were "selected" to come to US by slave traders, they were selected because they were the healthiest and strongest (to best be able to perform hard physical labor). Consequently, these genes have been past on to many African Americans in our nation, making them the strongest and fastest.

Perhaps they are better athletes and healthier than the other ethnicities that attempt to participate in competitive sports.
