Many of us has held onto one special toy or item that meant
enough that we have kept it, rather pristine for maybe even
our lifetimes. Do you have anything that special? I had a big
doll, that I put into my parents attic. And discovered one day
its' legs and feet had rotted LOL.

I was hoping to hear from those of you
who still have that special something
that meant the most out of all the other
Christmas presents you'd received in
your lifetime. I was hoping to hear from
the seniors since we've had the longest
lives. Surely someones' held onto
something they've received for Christmas, all these years? Any packrats? LOL

A Gibson electric guitar, Les Paul model. Got it when I was 9 years old and 63 years later, I still have it, in very good condition. My grandfather gave it to me, and I won't part with it. I was offered $1000 for it years ago.

I am not sure what a grown child means. i am 50 and I am a grown up child. So I would love a hand knitted sweater if it did not hang down to the floor etc. Other selections could be a collage of photos in a frame or a compilation of photos through the years, anything nostalgic like that. Scrap book type thing etc. Kids these days are completely different from 20 -25 years ago. These days are the days of entitlement. Kids now are owed a life of luxury and leisure and there is no real reason to work hard. it is far more important that they enjoy their work and have great pl ace to have lunch and so forth so it is not an easy question. You can tell that when you receive responses to your question referring to anything you may make as rubbish. It should be an expensive electronic piece of equipment, because they deserve it. You are better off getting a cheap itunes card as it will only be viewed and appreciated as a cheap card even if it was for a lot of money.

When I was in the 1st grade I got a baby doll that looked real!! As time went on it had some pretty rough treatment (my sis is 13 months younger than me)! Well, they needed a baby Jesus for the Christmas program and wanted to use my baby doll. I didn't know how to tell them that it just had one leg so I kinda lingered with the answer whether they could use it. When it boiled down that I was being selfish I said, "okay you can use it but it only has 1 leg"!!! The teacher looked laughed and said, "the leg isn't gonna show it will be covered up"!! I was so relieved and was proud to let them use my 1 legged baby doll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have a doll that was given to me back in 1967 I believe. It was a "leopard" doll, she has blond hair and her dress is leopard "look" fur. It has a zipper in the back of it and has a plastic frame under the fur to hold her dress out. You could put your pajamas in her during the day. I always had her sitting on my bed during the day and in a chair during the night. She is still sitting on my bed to this day in my parents home, but she don't hold her head up anymore like she use to. She was given to me for a Christmas gift by my grandma that passed away several years ago. She also got me a jewelry box the following year and I still have that as well. But my leopard doll is the one that I treasure the most to this day.

My horse. I obviously still don't have her. I got her when I was 10. I'm 57 now.

Oaky, you are talking about a gift we still have and treasure.......I got a Tonka truck when I was 5 (1955). I still have it. I treasure it because it was the first Christmas my parents bought me a GOOD toy instead of a doll and girlie toys. They finally got the idea that I didn't want dolls and gave me something I could really play with......lol. I still have that truck and my granddaughter WILL be allowed to play with it!

My favorite gift was the Jingle Bear. Remember that? I would say early 90s maybe? It was a white bear with a red and green snow cap and matching socks that hung around it's neck like a necklace with bells in it.

I remembered crying and begging my dad for the bear. He kept saying "No" only because my God-Mother already purchased it for me and was waiting until Christmas Eve to surprise me with it.

It looks just like this: http://www.techsewing.com/image/left/project-3D_active.gif

Mine was a "Rosebud"(brand name) Doll, I loved that doll so much, I can even remember the smell of it, I remember when my girls were born I used to search for it in toy shops, never did find one, my Mother used to knit outfits for her, played with it that much she just wore out, and last year I thought of it again when my granddaughter was born and did a search on Internet, I got so exited when I found some on here, but sadly they were way to expensive for me to buy, you got me thinking again, maybe I should go look if they are any cheaper, Thanks for this question

When I was 5 my grandfather gave me a wristwatch for Christmas. I can't remember if I could tell time then, but it made me feel so grown up.
