The reason breast feeding makes you loose weight is because it takes all your nutrients and things away from your body and you are burning lots of calories to top that off you body must work hard to produce all the milk how ever if you continue to take your prenatal vitamins drink milk or something with calcium and eat right then you will not suffer from this loss of nutrients and also when you are breast feeding your stomach contracts as it did when you were in labor so it makes your stomach muscles tight somewhat like crunches and sit ups do and when you stop breast feeding if you took good care of yourself while you were feeding then you will look great not to skinny! and remember breast feeding is BEST for your baby no matter what. So in closing yes you will eventually gain the weight back after you stop breast feeding if you dont continue to do things to keep your body in shape as long as you exercise and eat right you will look great:)GOOD LUCK

Its not true for everyone, but for some, breastfeeding does help you lose weight. Basically because you use up about 500 calories per day. However, my lil girl is 4 months and I've been breast feeding exclusively and I ended up gaining a few extra. So, like I said, it doesn't work for everyone.

Yes its true.

Your body has to work HARD to keep making that milk. It's burns about 500 calories a day.

And, yes you can keep it off just like if you lost that weight dieting or exercising.

It's also true that you produce a hormone at the same time that will make you extra hungry to re-supply any nutrients you are losing. Sometimes, people produce a lot, therefore eat a lot while nursing.

Yes, breastfeeding is soooo important for you and your baby!! The way it helps you to lose weight is because your body burns so many calories producing milk for you baby, which helps you get back to you prepregnancy weight, it also helps decrease your risk for obesity!!

Another interesting fact is when you breastfeed your body produces a hormone called Oxytocin which helps lower your stress level and lower your risk of having postpartum depression, and it also helps your uterus contract back to its size after birth which results in less postpartum bleeding!!

There are MANY more benefits for you and baby and I HIGHLY recommend it, I am actually writing an argumentative paper for college on why more women should instead of bottle feeding... so if you have any more questions I would love to answer and help you out just email me!!

Hope that helps!

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Well it depends on how healthy you diet is. The reason you lose weight while breastfeeding is because you are burning tons of extra calories. If you are eating healthy then you shouldn't put weight back on but you may need to work out more to continue to lose.

it takes extra calories for your body to make breast milk and many of those calories are IN the breast milk that your baby is ingesting.

if you stop breast feeding and continue to eat the same amount of calories then you will put the weight back on but if you cut them out then you shouldn't be affected. the best thing is to eat healthy so your body will recover well and your baby will be healthy.

Breastfeeding burns calories (i'm not really sure how much) but it is definantly enough. The only thing is you have to make sure you are eating healthy to offset what you are giving to your baby. I breastfed my son and I was thinner than I have ever been in my life. I bottle fed my daughter and I'm at my normal weight.

After reading this I just have to share something because I spent several years switching from diet to diet without experiencing any real results until I saw Pams magic plan (just google it). Without a doubt the best weight loss that I have ever achieved and I have not put it back on to this day.
