Do not isolate yourself,we are always a part of the vast reality, in fact we come from that reality,sustained/nurtured every second by it and perhaps return to it after we die! In other words, build up social support system, have positive and meaningful contacts with members of the family, community and social groups, society and environment, social systems and organisations.Secondly, have confidence in yourself that you are unique and special(in some talents, skills),that should be known, cultivated and performed, you do not have to be anybody else,(no model outside you), be that.Thirdly use that speciality of yours for the good of others, especially the needy and the downtrodden. Do not bother to use your skills and unique assets to your self development,if you do so it would fetch only a temporary benefits and always robs of your peace. Be helpful to others, you will definitely be taken care well by some other reality because of your such activities.Ability to love(both give and take) and work are the other hallmarks of a developed personality.

It sounds like you are interested in developing and improving your personality, which is great. I think that constant self-actualization is important. There are several areas of personality you can think about: social interaction, view of self, and emotional intelligence. Here are some questions to think about and decide if you should make some changes for each:

Social interaction: Who are you most comfortable associating with, why? Who are you afraid to talk to, ignore, dislike etc. and why? Could you work towards being more accepting, or perhaps less submissive?

View of self: Are there things goals in your life that you've been procrastinating? Why, are you afraid of failing? When you look in the mirror how do you feel. Look to your past to establish your strengths. What do you like best about yourself, least? Why?

Emotional IQ: This refers to the way you manage emotions and relate with people. Do you automatically blame yourself if someone seems upset? How do you handle yourself when youre angry with someone? Are you too direct, too passive? Think of examples of times when these scenarios turned out well, or badly.

Good luck. There are lots of books on this too!
