I can care less about use what, I will still go see the game.

And when the names are released, nothing will happen to these players anyway, ban all these players around 80 of them? I don't think so. and fans will still go see the games

As an Astros fan I wasn't concerned about any current players until they traded for Miguel Tejada. It wouldn't shock me if his name was on the list.

There probably will be backlash against the players, both with the fans and the comish's office. The list of players is proof of cheating, it's no longer just speculation and rumor. If player X is named, whenever player X goes on the road he will be booed relentlessly by the opposing fans. The hometown crowd might not be as tough, but if that player goes into a slump there will be more fuel behind the fans' disgust. And why wouldn't the comish's office take action? 3 or 4 players on one team are named, so what? Every team has minor leagues, they can bring someone up while the guilty players are on the suspended list. The players know they did it and they should be punished for what they did. If it wipes out a team then that's what they deserve.

Still, I don't see fans turning away from the game of baseball over this. Mitchell's investigation had been going on for a few years now and we've known for months that the report was going to list players who have used steroids. Some of the names on the list might surprise people, some might come as no surprise at all, but I still don't see fans turning away en mass.

I hope he would be suspended for the maximum allowed time and submitted to further scrutiny in the future. Steroids, HGH and other performance-enhancing drugs are turning the best game in the world into a circus. I'm a huge Red Sox fan, but I'm a fan of Baseball first. MLB has allowed this to happen and needs to tell the union to screw off (If they strike, screw 'em, play with replacement players) and institute a tougher, more in-depth testing process.

So, if my favorite player is named (Jason Varitek for the record), I'll call for his head on a platter.

Now, that being said, I can also understand why a borderline major leaguer would take these drugs. Putting myself in their situation, the minimum MLB contract is probably more than most of us will see in 3-4 years of work, if I were just slightly away from being a Major leaguer, I'd have to evaluate if the risk was worth it for the reward.

Players who don't deserve that distinction though are the ones who are already good players and use these drugs to enhance their stats.

Nothing is going to happen..baseball will investigate big name players and try to hand down suspensions but unless they have a positive test what can you do...and Miguel Tejada is not the only Astra's that could be on that list...this coming from an Astros fan...I would not be surprised to Roger Clemens on that listand not to many Red Soxs players

About all succesfull athletes out there use them. The performance increase is crazy, been there done that.
The point in that steroids are undetectable nowadays. Doctors and athletes are too smart to fail a doping test.

When your favorite player is named as a steroid user, it's time to send a letter to the commissioner telling him you support the movement for an unregulated sport allowing whatever athletic enhancing drugs a player is willing to pack his body full of.
