"Dual Core" - A type of processor which has two cores.
"Inter Pentium Dual Core" - One of the first Dual Core processors to appear in the market.
"Intel Core 2 Duo" - Probably the best Dual Core processor available in the market today.
I reccommend Core 2 Duo to all. It's really powerful.

The most important difference is that a Core 2 Duo processor makes use of shared cache memory. You would have heard of 2 mb L2 cache or 4 mb L2 Cache. Any free cache in the one core is utilised by the other core. So this makes your programs run faster when you multi task. Pl note, to test this running a word processor or excel sheet wouldnt work. You could have an antivirus program running in the background, while simultaneously burning a dvd and playing some music files. then you could see the advantage of shared cache memory.

Actually dual core is the trail version of the core 2 duo. whenever a product is released, the company first release the trail version and if it cliks then it releases the main version. dual core is the trail version and core 2 duo is full fledged version. core 2 duo may be a bit advanced than dual core with few modifications
