I'm thinking it was Bogie But now I'm not sure? Bogie? and a ragtag crew of misfits hired to transport a load of nitro over the mountain passes of South America for an oil company???

Not Bogie. "Wages of Sin", remade as "Sorceror" in the 80s

It's called "The Wages of Fear" and stars Yves Montand.
