Is Obama going to pull out the troops immediately? I heard a rumor that he was not going to do this. So I looked up the sources and could not find a CREDIBLE source. Then I watched video, the most recent debate, and in it, he said that he was going to pull them out starting now at a rate that is safe. A lot of people seem to be misinformed concerning this rumor which was probably started by competition. Someone give me the video link if I am wrong.

Obama has been flip flopping on this issue. Ron Paul has consistently voted against the war. Of course the troops can't all come home in one day! What Ron Paul means is that he would start the process immediately with all US troops back home within a year. Kurcinich had a plan to bring all troops back within 90 days, but that is overly optimistic.

Truth is that NO ONE is going to "pull the troops out immediately," because it isn't that simple. Ron Paul has a lot of interesting ideas. The problem is that he seems to have no clue on how to accomplish those ideas in any practical or doable way. That's a big problem. In any case, Barack Obama intends to withdraw the troops, but he wouldn't do it overnight. It just doesn't work that way.

Obama does plan to begin pulling troops out immediately. He has sponsored legislation calling for a time line for troop withdrawal beginning next year and has always been consistent on the issue of Iraq - that we should not be there and so should look for an exit strategy in the immediate to short term.

Obama is in favor of the withdrawal of troops in Iraq and this stance has been supported by some Americans who are anti-war.

No, and I agree with him that it should be done in stages...a rapid pullout won't look good, but the crap we are doing right now, "saving face" looks alot worse.
