you will have to wait till as long as it takes! sorry but there is no set time frame on when labour will officially start. When the baby starts secreting the hormones telling your body to do its thing, labour will start.
Take heart in the fact that you only have 7cm to go once labour starts!!!
That is so wonderful and you'll appreciate those first 3cm so much more when you realise what the other 7 are gonna be like (especially the last 2-3cm, ouch!!).
Good luck and you will probably deliver within the next 7 days more than likely.
Best of luck

Don't worry your body will let you know when you are ready! Usually the first 5cm take the longest so you have done well so far without painful contractions! The rest will take care of itself! You really need good contractions to dilate you more and make the baby move down and out. The contractions could start at any time, make sure you do plenty of walking while you are waiting and try sex it usually works to move things along, semen is similar to the artificial hormone they use to induce women. Good luck I wish I had a crystal ball to tell you how long you had left, but unfortunately I don't. Hope your labour is not too long and painful and you have a lovely baby very soon!x

Congrats!!! is this your first? what are you having? are you having contraction? any pain? i think you could go in tonight or in the morning. your already 3cm. the hospital should keep you at 4 cm. you should do as many squats as you can and also walk for as long as you can i bet you'll dilate fast as heck good luck..

walking helped me contained in the previous, yet once you're having difficulty moving that isn't be an decision. be sure in case you do attempt to decide for a walk which you're taking somebody with you. walking around a save or a park may be maximum suitable so the motor vehicle could be interior sight if something does ensue. different than that 40 weeks skill any day now . "attempt" being the operative be conscious to get some relax while you may. I used to get my maximum suitable sleep in a rocking recliner while i might get in direction of the tip of my pregnancies.

40 weeks!!!!!!!!!! your baby ought to be walking out within the next 24 hours........ with shoes, onesie, and diaper, lol. seriously though, probably within the next 24 hours. being pregnant any longer than that could be dangerous b/c the placenta has started to age and might not provide proper oxygen and nutrients and blood to your baby. good luck!!!!!!

Sometimes having your membranes doesn't start labor. You will know when you are ready...there won't be a question!
