I have just been screwed around by an independent tradey. He has recently "repaired" a railing of ours on a small balcony, and has done an unfinished job, (leaving after I paid and before I noticed) not to mention breaking some of my belongings without mentioning it and leaving all the offcuts in our car park to dispose of ourselves! After calling him to come back, he has failed to show up, and now wont return my calls. Is there anybody I can o to with a complaint like this? We live in Tasmania AU. I don't want to fork out for another builder!

Keeping in mind that I'm in Australia, there is no BBB in AU.

File a case in the small claims court so that he will be ordered to finish the work or reimburse you.

Call your local better business bureau and the sue him. Make sure you take pictures of the problem and the you will have to call someon for an estimate.
